Step 1 – Adjust Slicer guard setting
The first thing you are gonna do is you are going to open your slicer guard all the way up to the highest setting.
Step 2 – Sharpen attachment
You need to take your sharpening attachment and attach it to the meat slicer. We do so by placing the notch on the sharpening attachment to the notch of the meat slicer.
Step 3 – Set the guard
Now the guard should be in an open position. We are going to slide the slicer until it is slid into the knot section.
Step 4 – Sharpen the blade
The next step we are going to do is to take the wing nut and tighten it until you cannot tighten it anymore. On the sharpening attachment, there will be a 1 and a 2 settings. We will turn our blade on and turn it down to 1 for ten seconds.
Beware, you are going to see and hear some sparks. Afterwards, we are going to turn it up to 2 and that should get the back of the blade and in the front of the blade too.

Essentially, we are going to switch between 1 and 2 for about 5 seconds then turn it off.
Step 5 – Clean up the residue
we are gonna take the sharpening stone off. There will be a lot of build-up on the slicer blade and the guard and that is from the sharpening stone. You need to clean this off as soon as possible. Otherwise, all the sharpening stone can go into the food later when you use it.
So, open up the guard and wipe.
Remember, all that you are really removing is the sharpening stone, it is not the blade that is coming apart.
Step 6 – Clean the slicer
Now we move the blade by just passing through with the towel and should get rid of all the residue left on front of the blade.
To clean the bottom of the blade, push your towel and hold it against the bottom of the blade, and use your hand to turn the blade from the front.
Very important note: The blade should have been closed as part of the procedure done at the beginning. This is to help avoid injuring yourself. So, please read the manual carefully. Once that is done, all that is left is to clean beneath the slicer.

Step 7 – Final step
Lastly, the last part we need to do is to get the piece of cardboard that comes with your cleaning and sharpening kit. Place the cardboard onto the meat slicer like how you normally when you are about to slice a piece of meat. Then turn on the slicer and slice the cardboard.
Slicing the cardboard would take off all the burrs and ensure thee slicer can get a good clean slice.
